Patches: a Short History
After losing the Derpy auction for Japan, I thought of other ways I could contribute to my fellow bronies while making a charitable contribution to a worthy cause. Seeing all the brony-specific apparel popping up gave me an idea: Patches!
I immediately set to work on a design for Applejack, brainstorming ideas here and there. What finally made this endeavour really take off was this thread inquiring about patches: http://www.ponychan.net/chan/merch/res/10412.html
I couldn't let the work I'd done go to waste. It was the kick in the flank I needed to pick up the pace and finally finish the project. The result is what you see here.
I started this project with one goal in mind: contribute to the Friendship is Magic fandom while giving to charity, helping to spread the magic of ponies while positively impacting the lives of others that aren't so fortunate.
About the process:
It starts with a good idea, whether my own or another's(feel free to send me one and/or post in the current patch thread). The design is created in Adobe Illustrator and uploaded as a .png to the manufacturer. The manufacturer's graphic designers create a proof approximating the appearance of the patch for approval and send it to me. If it's approved, the order is placed and the patches arrive here approximately a week later. From there I ship them to you.
About the Company:
Rannoch Industries is the sole proprietorship I created to contribute to the MLP: FiM fandom. It's entirely owned and operated by myself; purely for bronies by a brony.
